PHROGZ

Frayed Knot Collective’s Inaugural production in Los Angeles, CA, PHROGZ is a modern re-telling of The Frogs by Aristophanes created with Head of NYU’s Classics Dept. Peter Meineck’s Translation.

The cast and crew spent two weeks adapting the script together to create a unique take of this classic Greek comedy including classic rock of the 1970s and legendary celebrities such as Elvis Presley, Ella Fitzgerald, and Jim Morrison as figureheads for Mythological Greek characters.

After rehearsing for months in New York City, we debuted our production outdoors at the AGLA Theatre in Altadena from August 8th to 10th, 2024, during the sunset. We were accompanied live by local band The Meerkats and to go along with our musical production under the stars, offered a wine tasting from our sponsor La Cienega Vineyard.
